Monthly Book Group – Usually held in the third week of each month. Members meet at the hosting member’s home at 6 pm for a pot-luck dinner, followed by
a discussion of the common read book for the month. During standard time, meetings are at 2
pm on Sunday, with no meal but snacks provided. Members select each month’s book from a

Girls Inc. – Every year the women of AAUW Owensboro celebrate Eleanor Roosevelt’s Birthday (Oct 11) at Girls Inc. with a party and educational activities about the life of one of the most influential women in our country’s history.
In December, we celebrate the Icelandic tradition of Jolabokflood or “bookflood” each girl is given a book featuring strong female characters to read over the holiday break.
